I kicked-off the 40 Day Self-Love Journey last Monday and I thought I’d give you a weekly glimpse into the daily spiritual inspiration messages I email. Hope you enjoy.
In order to love yourself, you must first feel you are worthy of love. Period. And for many of us, the first step to believing this is surrendering and wholeheartedly trusting your heart, mind, soul and life to God.
“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”
You are created in God’s own image. I’m sure we’ve all heard it before, but do you really understand what that means?
The other night I was watching special on TV about Wayne Dyer and his daughter was reading him a letter saying the biggest blessing he’s given her was embedding in her mind that she is God. We are one with Him and He is one with us.
There is no place that God is not. – Wayne Dyer
The thing that struck me most was her saying that we should ask God to use our eyes to see the world as He does. I reflected upon it for a moment and thought to myself, “how different would I see the world, my life, people in my life, strangers and everything else if I asked God to allow me to see the world as He sees it?”
How differently do you think your life would be if you had His vision? How differently would you see yourself through His eyes?
You are worthy of Love because that is what you are made of. It is the only truth you should ever accept about yourself. Everything else is garbage! God made us in Him image, so now we must undo the layers upon layers of lies we’ve accepted as truth. Our only truth is Love, but we have somehow let a power that is less than God’s control our mind to lead us to think otherwise.
I have good news though! We have something we can use to help us – the Holy Spirit. I never quite understood the role of the Spirit, but as I’m reading in A Course In Miracles, I understand it’s function so clearly now. God provided both Spirit and Jesus to be our Guides. We don’t have the power or knowledge to Guide ourselves back to our true self, but they do.
I now wake up every morning asking the Holy Spirit to be my Guide. I know as time passes, He will help me start to see this world through God’s eyes, as I’m meant to. We are all meant to.
If you want to know how worthy of love you are, you must first let go and trust that the Guide God sent is here to help you.
